dicom-slides privacy policy

Effective September 5, 2026

How dicom-slides handles data, including the services and integrations you choose to use.

Local image processing

The browser importer reads selected files and converts pixels locally. The inspected import path does not upload pixel data to a codec service.

Presentation and browser storage

Converted studies are embedded in PowerPoint custom XML and cached in IndexedDB. Sharing or cloud-saving the presentation can therefore transmit the study through Microsoft or another storage service.

Network resources

The hosted add-in loads its web assets and Microsoft Office.js. A configured remote study loads data from its specified address. Optional setup and example-data import tools download dependencies or datasets.

Patient information

The browser package omits selected direct identifiers such as patient name and ID, but retains other descriptive and imaging information. It does not remove burned-in text or certify anonymization; inspect metadata and pixels before sharing.

Removal

Remove study clears the slide’s saved study reference and schedules package/cache cleanup. Original DICOM files, exported static packages and other presentation copies remain under your control.

Host boundaries

PowerPoint, browser and cloud-storage handling is separate from the viewer. No dedicated analytics or crash-report upload integration was identified in the inspected first-party viewer and importer paths.

This support website

This static website does not use analytics scripts, forms, or third-party tracking scripts. GitHub Pages handles requests to the website under its own hosting and privacy practices. Visiting a source repository or contacting another service is subject to that service's policies.
